Have to admit that views of Fuji are often so compelling that you simply have to stand and stare, it unfailingly has that effect on me, even if on a speeding shinkansen ! Incidentally, there used to be a place in Tokyo called Fujimi-zaka (Fuji viewing slope), near JR Nippori where a good view of the mountain could be had - not sure if that's still the case anymore !

These days I’m lucky to see Fuji from the rooftop of the building where I live. And somehow even after 4 years it still has not become a routine view.
Very true. We need to be reassured from time to time. Or all the time. Be it by God, Fuji or the ocean...
